Not Your Average Sunday School Lesson

Today has been a pretty good day.

I got up hoping to talk to my hubby on Skype, but instead Skyped with Melissa. If I have to have a substitute, she's definitely the first choice. She had a Beatrix Potter baby shower yesterday (which is also what she's doing the nursery in), so we talked for almost an hour while she was showing me all her cool baby stuff! I still can't believe how much she got. That's definitely a good thing! Didn't help my baby fever much but, oh well. =) I'll survive.

Then, I got ready for church and left. We had a guest speaker today from Argentina. Amazing! He doesn't speak English, so we had a translator for him. I actually think the guy is from our church because he looks really familiar. You could tell that there were a few times when the translator wasn't exactly sure what he said... But, I've got a teeny tiny bit of Spanish knowledge so I could kind of fill in the gaps. Like they say, some things get lost in translation. I guess I never really realized it before, but Spanish is kind of a pretty language. Or maybe it was just the way this guy speaks. I don't know, but it was amazing. Plus, he had a really great message. All kinds of things were happening in that service! He ministered to probably every single person that attended my service. Let me just tell you... It was nothing short of a miracle. I can't pin any one thing down, but I didn't want to leave. And I left with a very...light,  God-filled heart.

Since I was at church so long, I kept some of my friends waiting on me. =P Sorry, guys! I headed over to Courtney's house after getting some lunch and letting Jasper out. We made pumpkin bread to send to our husbands! Sort of a Thanksgiving package. =) While we were waiting for the bread to get done, we sat around, chatted and ate some leftover chips and salsa from last night. Yum! The bread turned out really well too. It is soooooo good! I never thought I'd say this in a million years, but I am loving all things pumpkin right now! I may have to have a slice of my hubby's before I send it to him... ;-)

After all this, I also learned something today. No matter what you do or say - no matter how you live your life - someone will always be around the corner with something negative/mean to say to you or about you. It's not fair and it's not right. But, I know that this world isn't perfect and neither are the people in it. From now on, I choose not to respond to unkind words about/to me.

It doesn't matter what these people say. I know who I am, what I believe, what I stand for and who my REAL friends are. If you visit my blog for more than a minute, you too will know these things. I'm not rude; I'm not mean; I don't hide my faith, feelings or opinions; I don't love drama; I don't live in a bubble where nothing bad ever happens. The End.

"If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all."

"...bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you. If someone strikes you on the cheek, turn to him the other one also...Do to others as you would have them do to you."
-Luke 6:28-31

I hope y'all had a wonderful weekend!

I love that verse! I teach my daughter that, as well as trying to live it myself. :)
