We have her 6 month checkup later this week, so I don't know exactly how much she weighs. My guess is around 12 pounds. I got on the scale earlier this week with her and weighed both of us, so I'm hoping I'm right! Of course, that means she's only gained 2 pounds since the last checkup but what can you do? It's not like I'm starving the girl!
She's still in size 2 diapers and 3 month onesies. Little bean! We have one pair of 3-6 month pants that fit (thank you, Children's Place!) but the rest are too big. I usually have to resort to 0-3 month pants if I want her to wear them...and then they end up being more like capris. What can you do? I'm fairly certain we've got a couple NB tops that would still fit her, too. She is in 3-6 month sleepers, though! So at least she's a normal length, right? And she's also wearing 6-12 month socks. Ha! The only thing she's at/above normal in! I hope she doesn't mind having big feet...because she's probably got mine.
Her nighttime sleep is fantastic! Her bedtime is around 7:30-8:00 and we don't hear a peep out of her until around 7am. Sometimes she wakes up a bit early, but she's usually okay until at least 7. Bedtime is the sweetest part of the day around here... As soon as I turn off the overhead light in her room (and turn on the small lamp) and start putting her PJs on, she knows. It's all I can do to get her arms in the sleeper because she's already got one of her thumbs in her mouth. Sometimes she gives me kisses and touches my face, and then she goes to bed without a single complaint. =)
Daytime sleep is just okay. We're working our way through a growth spurt. Sometimes she'll nap for 2 hours, sometimes it's an hour and occasionally it's 45 minutes. She eats about every 3-4 hours and can usually stay up for 2 hours in between naps. We're in a bit of a transition phase, so every day is different.
I stinkin' love her face in this one!! =D
She is doing a ton of fun things these days!! She's working really hard on sitting up. She can sit pretty well on the couch, my lap, or a bed but she can only do it if you help her sit up. She can only sit on the floor if the Boppy is around her. I know she'll do it soon, but I'm finding that I'm super obsessed with getting her to sit up. Haha!
She's all about some toe-grabbing, too. Sitting up, laying down - she grabs 'em. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in to get her up from a nap and found a sock by her head. Haha! She's loving her little exersaucer and the jumper! She loves to jump around...and make noise. She squeals, laughs, "chats," the whole 9 yards. It's so cute!! She's just started grabbing things and bringing them to her mouth. She's not consistent about it, but she's learning! It's really crazy what all they learn in just 6 month's time.
Sweet Charlotte, You are getting so big! You're still a little bean as far as the rest of the world is concerned, but to me? To me you are big! You are doing all kinds of fun things - giving kisses, grabbing Mommy and Daddy's faces, trying to munch on your toes, sitting up a little bit, and jumping like a silly girl in your jumper or exersaucer. Even though it's a little sad to think my itty-bitty baby isn't going to be around much longer, it's so fun to watch you learn new things! We love watching you play and jibber-jabber. You have the sweetest little smile, too! It just lights up our world when you smile at us. You love when Mommy sings "You Are My Sunshine," too. We only sing it at naptime or when you're upset. It usually calms you right down and you give me the biggest, sweetest little smile! Mommy and Daddy love you so much, Little Bean!

She has such beautiful eyes!
I can't believe how fast she is growing! She is absolutely beautiful. :)
She's just beautiful! I loved reading this post and thinking, OH I remember when SugarCube was learning that! Which wasn't long ago because there's not that much age difference:) Your Charlotte is a lot like Alyssa with sleeping. She does fabulous at night but the daytime sleeping is where it gets confusing:) It's only been the last 2 weeks that she's been showing more of a pattern with that. As for the sitting up, Charlotte is doing great compared to Alyssa. My daughter didn't sit up, even assisted, well until 7 months. I thought I was doing something wrong, but then one day she just decides she can do it and did! She'll get it before you know it:) Alyssa also didn't start showing signs of placing things in her mouth consistently until 7 months. She's about 7.5 months now and the only problem is, she can get it to her mouth but hasn't figured out how to open her fist yet to release the snack:p
Keep up the good work! She looks so happy and healthy:)
P.S Alyssa would only gain 2 lbs every well checkup too :)
Oh reading about her reminds me of Penny so much! You'll be surprised, she'll just sit up one day! That's what Penny did! Also, Penny is like that at night - we do bath, read a story, and I nurse her and she's out. She knows!
we have a song too. baby mine. i sang it with brennen and with her and with both it calms them right down.
