The Love Story

I've seen this on a couple blogs today {and yesterday} and thought I'd join in the linky party going on over at From Mrs. to Mama!

1. How long have you and your significant other been together?

Just a little over 5 years!

2. How did you meet? {What's your "love" story?}

Joe and I met in college at the BCM {Baptist Collegiate Ministry} on campus. We were both in the praise team {he played the piano/keyboard, I sang} and he got up the courage one night after a meeting to ask me out. The rest is history!

3. If married, how long have you been married? If not, is this the guy you hope to marry? {do tell}

We will be married 4 years this June! Time flies. =)

4. If you are married, where did you get married at? Big or small wedding?  If not, where would you like to get married? And will it be big or small?

We got married in the church that I grew up in. It was a medium sized wedding. =P I wanted a small wedding, but with the size of his family and friends of the family that didn't quite happen. It didn't really matter much that day anyway. It was perfect.

5. Do you have any nick-names that you call one another? Do share!

We call each other "baby," mostly. We're not very original.

6. Name 3 things you love most about your honey.

I love his silliness, kind, sweet heart and the way he takes care of me. I'm spoiled.

7. Tell us how he proposed? Or your ideal proposal?

He proposed on a Sunday evening... He really wanted to take me to the place where we had our first date, but for some odd reason they were closed. {It was a small diner, so who really knows.} He got really upset about it, which I didn't understand... I suggested we eat at Olive Garden instead, but he was still irritated. I didn't say anything...just let him have his moment. Lol! We got to Olive Garden and he started acting so strange! He asked for a table instead of a booth, which we never did because we both worked in a restaurant and knew it's a pain when people request one or the other. Then he wouldn't eat the appetizer he ordered. I kept asking him if something was wrong, but he never would say. Then our entreés came, and he said "before we start, there's something I need to ask you." =)

At his parents' house just after he proposed.

8. Is he a flowers and teddy bear kind of guy for v-day, or strawberries, champagne, and rose petals?

Hmmm. I'd say a little bit of both, but usually he just gets me flowers. And I'm totally okay with that.

9. Are you a sunset dinner on the beach kind of girl, or pop a movie in and relax on the couch?

Although dinner on the beach sounds like something we need to do before we leave Hawaii, I'm more of a relax on the couch kinda girl. Well, we're both that way.

10. Tell us one thing you'd like to do with your significant one day. If you could do anything? Go anywhere?

I really, really, really want to go on a trip to England. He promises it'll happen one day.

11. Tell us what you plan on doing on this Valentine's Day.

We don't have plans... He may be working until 8 or 9 that night depending on which 12hr shift he gets. Hopefully we'll be able to do something after V-Day, but I'm not counting on it.

12. Are you asking for anything this Valentine's day?

Not really, but flowers would be nice!

13. Give us one piece of advice of keeping a relationship strong and full of love.

Definitely communication. I know most people say that, but I can't stress that enough. Not just talking to your spouse either, but really talking and getting down to the heart of things like what you want, what you need, what upsets you, etc. It keeps the other person from just guessing all the time and it also helps them get to know you more.

14.  Show us a picture of what love means to you.

Your proposal story is so cute - it's the little quirks of the night that make it so memorable! :)
I have to agree with everyone else in that the final picture is breath-taking. So beautiful.
God bless!
