Another One Bites The Dust!

"And another one's gone, and another one's gone and another one bites the dust..."

Sorry. Got off on a Queen tangent there for a second. =P

I'm talking about another project that is now complete!!!! Only took me...2 months to do it. Which is really sad considering it only took me about an hour to do once all the circles were cut and glued into little cones. This is what I finished today.

Doesn't it look great?!

I think it looks pretty darn good hanging on my front door. =)
All patriotic and everything.

Eek! I just love it!

The "I *heart* my Soldier" ornament is courtesy of my MIL. She sent it {along with a couple other things} as a gift for my birthday. The ribbon I used to hang it up with is actually a fabric belt to a pair of pants that I no longer wear. I had a piece of ribbon all lined up for this project, but it was nowhere to be found today so I was forced to improvise. =) I think it turned out well, don't you? I'm just kicking myself for not finishing it sooner.

In other news, I received this beauty in the mail today and I am absolutely thrilled about it!

There was a "giveaway" floating around about a month ago... They gave this cookbook away to those who had family members deployed. I was all over that and signed up! I am really glad I did now. This cookbook has some really awesome (and simple!) recipes that I can't wait to try. =)

On top of finishing my project and receiving the cookbook in the mail, the Sooners kicked some serious football butt today!!! =D Major win over Fla. St. - 47-17!! Boomer Sooner!!!

Now, if my hubby would get online this would be a GREAT day!

I absolutely LOVE the wreath!! I made fabric bouquets for my wedding and they start off with the same fabric cones! I wish i had saved all my leftover cones now to make a wreath like this, but I JUST threw them out this past week! Here's a link to my red white and blue bouquets if you are interested! http://www.glamour.com/weddings/blogs/save-the-date/2010/07/fabulous-fabric-bouquets-and-h.html

The wreath looks GREAT! I need to come up with a red/white/blue wreath for next year. I may steal your idea ;-) I made a Christmas wreath and a fall wreath using pieces of coordinating ribbon tied in bows around those straw wreaths you can buy at any craft store. Too bad I won't get to use my fall wreath this year though :(
