Best Day {so far}!

All I can say is, "wow." Today was a great day. {Obviously, it would have been better if my husband were here, but he's not soo....}

Last week, Mrs. C told me that she and her husband found a pretty good church. I was excited, because we have the same tastes in churches. Anyway, I went with them this morning. I was outside waiting for them when the music started. It was one of my favorite songs [and of course I can't think of it right now] and I immediately thought, "I'm home." =) The music was almost exactly the same as it is at DayStar and the message was unbelievable. 

Do you ever go to church and just have an amazing experience? That's totally what happened to me today. The sermon [by a guest speaker] was on overcoming fear. Hello!!! It's like he knew that I needed to hear that. I needed to remember that I serve an awesome, all powerful God and I have nothing to be afraid of. "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31...I believe.) As a Christian, I need - no, I'm called to live courageously. God doesn't want me to be afraid of what might happen. He wants me to trust Him. And after all He's done for me, how could I not?! I mean....the message was so powerful, I could just feel my heart...healing, realizing that I've been wasting time worrying about things that might not even happen! And, I know that once I get around this mountain called deployment, I will be so much better - and stronger - for having done it. And I'm not doing it alone. I've got God on my side. =) The message came mainly from Romans 8:31-39, with Ephesians 6:11-13 and Revelation 12:10 as related scriptures. I encourage you to read it if you're feeling afraid or alone. It's really uplifting. If you really want, I can type up my sermon notes and send them to you via email. It was a really awesome service. =)

After church, Mrs. C and I came back to my house. Her hubby wanted some guy time with his friend. Then, we went to a concert and fireworks showing on post. Oh. My. Word.

The concert was awesome!!! {I think I'm over-using that word tonight.} It was pretty stinkin' cool to see Smashmouth in concert. I took several videos and pictures. =) I got VIP seating thanks to my Blue Star Card. I was a little disappointed that the "VIP seating" was more like "the VIP pick your own spot and camp out section." Then, another friend and I got yelled at for standing as close to the stage as we could get [which was still 10 feet away] by this old, gripey lady because this "child" had been sitting on a blanket in an up-front spot all day. Ummmm, first of all, who are YOU to tell me what to do? Second, my husband is deployed. Third, this "child" can stand up here like the rest of us if he wants to see. Fourth, did he even know who Smashmouth was before his MOM found out about the concert? No, probably not. Get off your high horse and chill, woman. Ugh, anyway. =)

The concert was great - they played more of their hit songs which I loved. They also did some older rock songs, which was probably nice for the older people there. And by older I mean "senior." They ended the concert with "All Star." I was so stinkin' excited. LOL! I mean, I remember when that song came out! I remember listening to it on the radio, singing it on the band bus on the way to football games... To see them in concert was so amazing! I even got an up close view of him afterwards. I was sooo close to getting his autograph, but no luck. =( One of my friends did, though, so I took a picture of it! Haha=)

Then we waited for like an hour and a half for the fireworks to start. I big, red puffy heart fireworks. =) They are the highlight of the 4th...quite possibly the highlight of my year. Fireworks are the best! On what other holiday is it totally normal to light stuff on fire and watch it light up the sky? Maybe New Year's, but not always.

The fireworks were pretty awesome, but like I said I heart fireworks. I was cool with shooting off our own fireworks when I lived at home. So a show just totally makes my day. I wish my birthday were on the 4th. How cool would that be?!  I have a bunch of videos from the day, but they haven't made it to my computer yet. Maybe I'll post them tomorrow. =)

On this 234th anniversary of our country's birth, I'm very thankful for all the freedoms we enjoy. Their truly is no other nation on the face of the earth like ours. I'm thankful that I can worship my Savior without worrying if I'm going to get caught and put in prison. I'm thankful that people like my husband are willing to fight to protect the freedoms we enjoy here. I'm proud to be an American and even more proud to be a Soldier's Wife. 

The Soldier's Wife Creed

I am the wife of an American Soldier.
I am a supporter of the United States Army -
an encouragement for the protectors of the greatest nation on earth.
 
Because I am proud of my husband and the  uniform that he wears,
I will always act in ways creditable to him, the military service

for pleasure, profit, or personal safety,
which will disgrace my husband, his uniform or our country.
I will use every means I have to encourage my husband to be
the best soldier that he can be.
 
I am proud of my husband, my country and its flag.
I will fly the flag and will always remember the sacrafices
made by my husband and by generations of men and women
that have served our beloved country.
 
I will try to make my husband proud of the
manner in which I accept his decision to defend my freedom and
the freedom of all American citizens -
