*Swoon*

Last night, I had the privilege of attending a FREE concert, thanks to the Blue Star Card program. Sometimes, there is a benefit to being a spouse of a deployed soldier. Sometimes. =) Yesterday was one of those times. Chantal stood in line for an hour and a half on Friday morning to get us free tickets. I was so glad that we got them! I bet you're wondering who we got to see... {Unless, of course, you read my last post.}

Daughtry.

And, I have to tell you that I officially have a new celeb crush. I mean, come on, can you really resist *swooning* over this guy?

*sigh* And hearing him sing did not help my crush in the least. I'm a total sucker for guys with a voice. Just ask my husband. ;-)

Anyway, when we got to the concert we stood in line for a bazillion years. I couldn't believe how long it was! And we were kinda early too. But, I'm not much of a concert goer so I suppose it's normal. Didn't matter how long we were in line, though. Daughtry didn't even come onstage until 9:00. Sad faces. Two local bands performed before them, which was fine. It was mostly entertaining. I think I was just so excited about seeing Daughtry that nothing could compare. Lol!!!

I took a bunch of pictures, but not all of them turned out well. I need a better camera!!!! I didn't even think about the quality of my camera until I realized I wasn't going to get good close ups of my new crush. ;-) It was such a fun concert!!! Great music, a good friend, a whole bunch of drunk people... =)

Without further ado, I'll share some pictures from the night.

I think this was the opener.

I don't know why, but I really love this picture.
{He really is in the photo...just in the center. You may have to click on it to see in detail.}

Ah, Daughtry. I was a little bit jealous of some of the VIP seats... I would have died if I had been that close. Lol! Plus, they got stuff thrown at them. Woulda been nice. I don't need that, but I most certainly wouldn't turn it down! It was a fantastic night. =) I was pretty sure I was going to lose my voice from all of the yelling and singing I was doing.

I finally got home around midnight. I was shocked to find that my husband was online, waiting for me. =) We talked for a bit and then went to bed. I got up this morning to go to a scheduled VTC (Video TeleConference) with Joe at brigade. Just in case you didn't know this before, VTC = incredibly awkward situation.

When I got there, I think I walked in on a conversation of another couple. They didn't seem to mind and I wasn't really paying that much attention anyway. Joe arrived, and we talked...with two other soldiers in the same room. The room was basically a conference room. Joe's face was on one big screen tv hanging on the wall (I'd say about 32-40 inches) and my face was on the two tvs on either side. Weird. I will say that the video quality was way better than Skype, but it was so weird to talk to my husband with other people listening!!! Needless to say, I don't think we'll be doing that again. Way too weird. Maybe if I didn't get to Skype with him I'd feel differently about it.

As soon as I left brigade, I rushed home to watch the Red River Rivalry!!!! In other words, I came home to watch the Sooners play the Longhorns. =) Oh, what a game too!! I was so stressed out! I yelled at the TV, threw one of the pillows from the couch at the TV, scaring Jasper several times. Poor dog. =P But, in the end the Sooners won and I was soooooo ecstatic! It was rough, but I'm really glad we pulled out a win. Because now, I can post things like this on Facebook. =)

{Thanks, JG!}

Or this:
I love the Red River Rivalry!!!

During (and after) the game, I got things ready for dinner with our little group of girls tonight! I was super excited to host. I love, love, love hosting and it's been forever since I've been able to do it. =) I made Crock Pot lasagna and the other girls brought side dishes, dessert and wine {gotta have wine}. I really enjoy our get-togethers.

They left just a little while ago and my house seems so quiet now!! Oh, and I'm pretty sure Jasper is worn out. He gets really excited when people come over...let alone four other people! Oh, and babies. Jasper loves babies. Probably a little too much. =P He likes to lick them. Hehe.

So, that's been my weekend so far! For now, I'll leave you with a little collage of the concert pictures.

Hope y'all are having a great weekend!

I would have loved to see that concert!

I love entertaining too, but we haven't done it all that much here where we're posted.

Yay for free concerts and especially with Daughtry. He did a free concert here at Bragg a few months ago. :)

Yeah, I've never done a VTC, but when SoldierMan was in OCS he wanted to use our laptop cameras to video chat on Google. He had two roomates. Awkward! For me anyway. He didn't seem to care, but it was weird to me. :p I'd be happier with private typed conversations, honestly.

That concert looks like so much fun! We haven't had any good concerts here on post yet. Just local stand-up comedians and things. Not my style.

Oh my gosh, I was at church this morning and our Sunday School class does weekly Pick 'Em for college football, and they were talking about how everyone's brackets got all screwed up this week because of all the upsets, and someone said, "Yeah, like that Texas game. Who one earth would have thought Texas would lose that one? I mean, Oklahoma??" And I was like, "What? They were ranked 21 and lost to friggin' UCLA. That's not an upset." Yeah, the number 8 team beats the number 21 team. Who saw that coming?!?! :P But they're all SEC people anyway, they don't really follow Big 12.
