I Think I'm In Love...

With Charleston and it's wonderful, amazing, fascinating history. I have been in a historian's heaven today. And most likely will be tomorrow as well. I'm so lucky that Joe appreciates history and its preservation. Otherwise, the poor guy would probably feel tortured. =) I have felt giddy all day!!! Charleston's history dates back to, well, the original colonization of the New World. Oh. My. Word! Like I said, I'm in heaven. Revolutionary War, Civil War...churches, old houses, old buildings...be still, my heart!!!!

Here are the best pictures of the day:

View of Downtown Charleston from the boat that took us to Fort Sumter.

This, my dear friends, is Fort Sumter. Where the Civil War began. *happy sigh*

Flags

Inside Fort Sumter. To the left is where the Officer's Quarters would have been if they hadn't been destroyed in the Civil War. Enlisted Men's Quarters should have been were I was standing.

Joe and I standing in what was probably an anteroom to where gun powder and ammunition were stored.

We had dinner at a fabulous Italian restaurant downtown, called Bocci's.

I fell in love with this place and probably looked like an idiot because I took too many pictures. =)

Me at Bocci's.

St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
One of the last pics of the day because my camera died. Sad.

Hope y'all are having a fabulous weekend!!!
